Eugene Matthews, III

Eugene “Big U” Matthews, III departed this life at University Medical Center on Monday, October 16, 2017 at the age of 46. He was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Beloved son of Levern Hayes Matthews and the late Eugene Matthews, Jr. Fiancé of Shantrell Parker. Stepfather of Troymika Woolridge. Brother of Precious Hayes and the late Jesus Lee “Gemo” Matthews. Grandson of the late Rhoden Paul Hayes, Sr., and Levern Westbrooks. He was preceded in death by 4 uncles; also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 230 MONROE ST. GRETNA, LA on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time. Interment: Will Be Private
