Mable Byas Martin

Mable Byas Martin departed this life on Tuesday October 17, 2017 @ Passages Hospice. She was a retired Baker Supervisor of Tulane University and Orleans Parish Prison.

Beloved wife of the late George Martin. Devoted mother of Eugene Martin Sr. Grandmother of Eugene S. Martin, Jr. Great grandmother of Lavell Hutton,tamia Sterling, Christopher Evans, Javion Sterling, and Damonta Dixson. Daughter of the late Saul and Viola Reed Byas. Sister of the late Samuel Byas , Vandella Wiggins, Awella White, Leola Sullivan and Hilda Mathieu. Devoted cousin of Althea Mathieu Vidal and Inell Mathieu Tucker, also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.

Age: 85 years a native of Belle Alliance, LA. and a resident of New Orleans, LA.

Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Mt. Zion Donaldsonville, LA., Historical 2nd Baptist Church, Household of Faith, Regular Baptist Church and priest and parishioners of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, and neighboring churches; employees of Passages Hospice and Jefferson Health Care Center are invited to attend the Memorial Service from Davis Mortuary Service, 230 Monroe St. Gretna, La. on Saturday October 28, 2017 at 10:00a.m.
