Joyce Jackson Joseph, age 83, took on her heavenly wings on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at West Jefferson Medical Center. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Joyce was a graduate of Xavier University of New Orleans and a retired educator of the Orleans Parish School Board after more than 38 years of service. Beloved wife of 50 years to the late Rev. Joseph W. Joseph. Devoted mother of Jaye T. Joseph and Janel Joseph (Kevin, Sr.) Spann. Loving grandmother of Jatary D. Joseph, Ashlynn L. Sampson and Warren Sharper III. Daughter of the late Eugene Jackson, Sr. and Pinkey D. Williams Jackson. Sister of Eugene, Jr., Edmond, Fred, August, and Ernest (Tony) Jackson, Dorothy J. Jones, Cynthia J. Johnson, and Vera Savwoir. Extended mother of Kamel Dohman, Gregory Kelly, Dina Morrow, and Shadawn White. Devoted friend of Dorothy Lewis, Shirley Dorsey, Deborah Theodore, and the late Louis Lewis, Margaret “Yanky” Johnson, and Louise Williams; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Mt. Zion B.C., Mt. Ararat M.B.C., Gloryland Mt. Gilliam M.B.C, Morning Star M.B.C., Second Highway B. Zion Baptist Church, 701` Huey P. Long Ave. Gretna, LA on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Noily Paul, Jr., officiating

Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
