Edwina Celistan Brown

Edwina Celistan Brown departed this life peacefully at her residence on Wednesday December 6, 2017 at the age of 75. She was a native of Marrero, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Beloved wife of 57 years to Russell Brown, Sr. Loving mother of Anthony (Ronelda) Brown, Russell (Kelly) Brown, Jr., Ron (Monica) Brown, and Zina (Charles) Mosby. Daughter of the late Louis and Ethel Favorite Celistan. Sister of Louis Celistan, Jr., Ethel Dent, Barbara Celistan Richardson, and the late Catherine Celistan. Niece of Vernita Favorite. Sister-in-law of Henry Allen. Godmother of Kadeem Allen; also survived by 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; employees of Magnolia Community Services, and Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 701 Huey P. Long Ave. Gretna, LA on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 10:00a.m.
