Emelda Johnson Peters

Emelda Johnson Peters, age 74, entered into eternal rest at Ochsner Medical Center Westbank on Saturday, December 16, 2017. She was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. She was a 1961 graduate of L. B. Landry and attended Dillard University. Beloved wife of the late William Peters. Loving mother of Edgar Carlos (Karolyn) Peters and Sean William Peters. Daughter of the late Edgar and Rebecca Ellison and Ather Johnson. Granddaughter of the late Moses and Classie “Martha” Riley, Ather and Leona Johnson; also survived by 8 grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Second Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; members of L. B. Landry Alumni Association, Youth Women in Light for Action, Saturday Morning Ladies Bible Class, and Vidalia-Ferriday Midweek Ladies Bible Study are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Second Baptist Church, 2836 Sullen Place New Orleans, LA on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Andre Sigler, officiating Viewing will be held from 8:00a.m. -9:45a.m. ONLY at the church.
