JoAnn Hamilton

Jo Ann Hamilton went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at the age of 69. She was a native of Lettsworth, LA and a resident of Avondale, LA. Jo Ann was employed as a nurse at Luling Living Center until her retirement in 2016. Beloved wife of the late James Jackson and Wesley Hamilton, Sr.   Loving mother of Shannon Jackson, and Alisha Jackson Okoro (Fidel). Stepmother of Rhonda Hamilton (Tyrone), Carolyn Hamilton, and Wesley Hamilton, Jr. (ShaRonda). Step grandmother of the late Tyrone Hamilton. Daughter of the late Jerry Thornton, Sr. and Florence Williams. Stepdaughter of the late Robert Walker, Sr. Sister of the late Delores Thornton; also survived by 18 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 3 sisters, 6 brothers, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Second Bethlehem Baptist Church, The Word of Faith Temple Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; employees of Luling Living Center are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Second Bethlehem Baptist Church, 7012 Colapissa St., New Orleans, LA on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Travis George, officiating Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
