Corrie Mae Walker

Corrie Mae Walker died peacefully in her sleep at her home of natural causes on Monday, January 1, 2018 at the age of 79. She was a native of Hazelhurst, MS and a resident of Marrero, LA. Corrie’s favorite pastime was cooking, baking, and spending time with family and friends. Beloved wife of the late Harvey Walker. Loving mother of Margaret Walker Isaac, Clint Walker and the late Jerry Walker. Devoted grandmother of Nina Isaac and Irene Lewis. Great grandmother of Ireon and Courtney Isaac, Lea and Robin Lewis. Great great grandmother of Nyla, Jace, and Jaden Howard. Daughter of the late Hanie and Matilda Swan Collins. Sister of Mae Cornish, Sarah Burnett, Hanie Collins, Jr. and the late Laura Lee Harris, Alex Collins, and Rose Zinna Collins. Sister-in-law of the late Mannie Walker, Suzie Mae Walker, L. M. Walker and Eddie Walker. Corrie is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Williams Ross United Methodist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Williams Ross United Methodist Church, 7510 Pearl St., New Orleans, LA on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
