Karen Leona Woodard

Karen Leona Woodard, beloved daughter, sister, and aunt, was called home to rest on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the age of 59. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA.  Karen was a 1976 graduate of McDonough 35 High School.  She was a certified medical assistant, and an award winning collections officer at First National Bank of Commerce, Sears Credit Services, and N.C.O. Financial Services.  Loving daughter of Arthemise Anderson and the late Dr. A. Newton Woodward. Stepdaughter of Bettye Woodward.  Sister of Cheryll (Tyrone) Hudson, Pamela Prillman, and Derrick Woodard.  Aunt of Keyanne LaBeaud, Priscell Holman, Allegra Prillman, and Ryan Prillman.  Former wife of Edwin Lynn Burks; also survived by 1 great niece, 3 great nephews, and a host of beloved relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 6820 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY MARRERO, LA on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 10:00a.m.  Viewing will be held from 8:00a.m.-9:50a.m. Only at the above named parlor.
