Anthony Stanley Murray

February 11, 1936 — February 8, 2018

 

Anthony Stanley Murray departed this life to begin his eternal life with Jesus on Thursday, February 8, 2018. He was an native and resident of New Orleans, LA for over 70 years and presently residing in Aurora, CO since Hurricane Katrina. Anthony served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a retired employee with the Orleans Parish School Board.

Beloved father of Lynette Melissa Murray. Son of the late John Harrison and Leon Bibbens Murray. Brother of Vera Murray Johnson and the late Herbert G. Murray and Harrison J. Murray, Sr. Nephew of the late Lawrence Murray and Olden C. Foster, Sr. Uncle of Joan P. (James ) Brumfield,Cheryl J. (Joel) Mudd, Karen (Frank) Johnson, Orelia M. Stevenson, Harrison J. Murray, and Edward R. Murray and the late Teresa M. Green. Brother in law of the late Rebecca Murray and Thad Johnson, also survived by great nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of St. Matthew United Methodist Church, Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church, and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at St. Matthew United Methodist 1100 Verrett St. New Orleans, LA on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 10:00a.m.

Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.

Interment: McDonoghville Cemetery-Gretna, LA.
