Joseph Benny DeBlanc departed this earthly life on Friday, February 23, 2018 at the age of 89. He was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Joseph was a retired Merchant Marine and served his country as a member of United States Army during the Korean War. Joseph’s love for New Orleans culture was evident as he masked for years as an Indian with the White Cloud Hunters Tribe. Loving father of Pamela Randall, Sandra Johnson, Keris Whitaker, Judith Hutchinson, Daria Faciane, Yolanda Tomkies, Noreen Trina, Darius, Leighton, and Eric Joseph DeBlanc, and the late Grayling DeBlanc. Son of the late Joseph “Josef” Benny DeBlanc and Maude Robinson DeBlanc Moore. Brother of Dorothy Moore Martin and the late William Jr., Lionel, and Robert Moore, Bernice Coste and Bernadine Hinkle. Joseph is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family and members of White Cloud Hunters Tribe are invited to attend the Funeral Service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 230 MONROE STREET GRETNA, LA on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the parlor.
