Alice Gillard Brown

Alice Gillard Brown was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the age of 62.  She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Gretna, LA.  Alice was a graduate of L. B. Landry Senior High School and Southern University at New Orleans, where she acquired a Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education. She was a member of L. B. Landry Senior High School Band as well as Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.  Alice was employed as an educator with the Orleans Parish School System.  Loving wife of Leo Brown, Sr., Devoted mother of Twanna Brown-Bush, Leo Brown, Jr., and Tempestt Brown.  Grandmother of Alise Brown, Le’on Brown, Uris Bush, Jr. and Lion Brown. Daughter of the late Daniel Gillard, Sr. and Lucille Gillard.  Sister of Daniel (Pamela) Gillard, Jr., Leon Gillard, Sr., Donald Gillard, Beverly Verrett, and the late Curtis Gillard, Sr.  Aunt of the late Craig Verrett and Leon Gillard, Jr.; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Shiloh Baptist church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Shiloh Baptist Church, 723 Magellan St. Gretna, LA on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Larry J. Davis, officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m until service time at the church.
