William Earl Peters

William Earl Peters, age 70, departed this life on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at his home of 38 years in Gretna, LA.  He was a native of Foxworth, MS, and reared and educated in Bogalusa, LA.  Mr. Peters was a 1965 graduate of Central High School (now Bogalusa High School).  He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education from Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA in 1970, and pursued advanced studies at Tulane University.  Mr. Peters served as an educator with the Columbia, MS School System, Archdiocese of New Orleans and the Orleans Parish Public School System. He retired from Landry-Walker Senior High School, where he rendered 27 years of dedicated service. Mr. Peters was also a faithful Deacon and Christian Educator at Greater St. Stephen Ministries and Life Center Ministries. He was the devoted husband of Catherine Robinson Peters.  Loving father of Tiffany A. Peters.  Son of the late Rev. Curtis and Annie Youngblood Peters. He was preceded in death by 8 siblings.  Mr. Peters is also survived by 4 brothers-in-law, 2 sisters-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Life Center Ministries, Greater St. Stephen Ministries and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Service commemorating his life at Life Center Ministries, 2100 Ames Blvd. Marrero, LA on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 10:00a.m. Bishop D. Douglas Wiley-Taylor, officiating Viewing will be held from 8:00a.m.-10:00a.m ONLY at the church.
