Maloria Pratt McCurdy

Maloria Pratt McCurdy, age 94, departed this earthly life for eternal home on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Belle Vie Nursing Home. She was a native of Chicago, IL and a resident of Gretna, LA (McDonoghville).  She was a retired LPN of Touro Shakespeare Nursing Home in Algiers, LA.  She was a dedicated volunteer of the Gretna Community Center.   Beloved wife of 33 years to the late Louis McCurdy. Loving mother of Yvette Royal, Steven McCurdy, Darren McCurdy, and the late Gregory and Frederick McCurdy.  Grandmother of the late Darren McCurdy, Jr.  Grandmother of Hashim and Chad Royal, Kelli and Frederick McCurdy, Jr.  Great grandmother of Daria Demuchest and Diamond McCurdy.  Daughter of the late Mary Gaspear and Frederick Augustus.   Mother-in-law of Londa, Betty, Carolyn and Veronica McCurdy, and the late Kenneth Royal. Devoted friend of Emelda Charles, Stella Ragas, Juanita Thomas, Alice Jones, Bernadette Robinson and Valencia Williams; also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.  Relatives and friends of the family, also priest and parishioners of All Saints Catholic Church and all neighboring churches; members of Golden Opportunity Club and Bible Study Class at All Saints Catholic Church; employees of Ochsner Medical Center, Belle Vie Nursing Home, Gretna Community Center and Gretna Senior Center are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at All Saints Catholic Church, 1441 Teche Street, Algiers, LA on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 10:00a.m.  Father Peter Weiss, celebrant  Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m.; Recitation of Rosary 9:00a.m.  Interment: Christian Social Cemetery-Gretna, LA  Arrangements by Davis Mortuary Service 230 Monroe St. Gretna, LA  To view and sign the guestbook, please go to www.davismortuaryservice.com.
