Hal Jenkins

Hal “Harold” Jenkins entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at the age of 67.  He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA.  Harold, as he was affectionately known to family and friends will be remembered for his love of fishing, reading, and dining out with his wife. Beloved husband of 29 years to Darlene Downs Jenkins.  Loving father of Tracey W. Powell, Felecia Evans (Tracey), Harriet Cooley (Robert), Darlika Boines (Michael), and Wayne Downs (Krystal).  Son of the late Lawrence and Leola Jenkins.  Brother of Rita Jenkins, Shelia Jenkins, Warren Jenkins, Sr., Helena Jenkins, and the late Zenobia Washington, Lawrence Jenkins, and Willie Jenkins.  Son in law of Delores Cullier and the late Ronald Cullier and Lawrence Harris.  Uncle of the late Calvin and Carolyn Washington.  Brother-in law of Tony Bacorney, Veronica Walker, Cynthia Downs (Elliot), Denise Johnson (Tyrone), and the late Junior Bazille and Kathy Downs. Father-in-law of the late Ronald Powell; also survived by 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 6820 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY MARRERO, LA on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 10:00a.m.  Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named parlor. Interment: Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery-Ama, LA
