James Douglas Riley

James “J.D.” Douglas Riley, Sr. entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at West Jefferson Medical Center at the age of 82. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. James retired after 27 years as an employee of the Regional Transit Authority.
Beloved husband of Orelia W. Riley. Devoted father of James , Jr. (Donna), Gregory (Denise), Rosalind (Solomon), Michael (Sandy), Patrick (Denita), and the late Lisa Renee Riley. Son of the late West Riley and Hazel D. Riley. Brother of John (Dorothy) Riley, Barbara (Herbert) Collins, Gloria S. Riley, Williams (Labirda), and the late West (Doris) Riley, Jr. also survived by a host grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.Relatives, friends, also pastors, officers, and members of Boynton United Methodist, Morning Star B.C., Regular B.C., Second Highway B.C., St. Mary B.C. and all neighboring churches; Employees of Daughters of Charity, Louisiana State University, Union National Life Insurance, CVSL Transportation Services, New Orleans Police Department, Plaquemines Parish School Board, Tulane University, Loyola University, and Charity School of Nursing are invited to attend the Homegoing Service at Boynton United Methodist Church 515 Lafayette St. Gretna, LA on Friday, May 25, 2018 at 10:00a.m.
Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery-Westwego, LA.
