Ashton Anthony Mitchell

Ashton Anthony Mitchell entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at the age of 29 in St. Thomas, U.S.Virgin Islands.  He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Ashton was a graduate of St. Augustine High School and Sam Houston State University.  He was a former Professional Basketball Player and Realtor.  Ashton was presently employed as a Construction Project Manager. Devoted father of Jaysen Tillman.  Loving son of Alwin Tyrone Mitchell and Roslyn Louis Mitchell.  Grandson of Betty Watson Martin, Gervin Mitchell, and the late James Louis, Jr. and Ethel Mae Alexander Louis.  Brother of Alwin T. Mitchell, Jr., Alston Mitchell, Damieon Savage, Brandon Savage, and Ashle’ Mitchell.  Cousin of the late Jerome LaGrange.  Godfather of Braydon Savage; also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends.  Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Second Zion Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Second Zion Baptist Church, 6520 Second Zion Ave. Marrero, LA on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 10:00a.m.  Bishop James Nelson Brown, officiating  Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service at the church.  Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, LA  Arrangements by Davis Mortuary Service 230 Monroe St. Gretna, LA  To view and sign the guestbook, please go to www.davismortuaryservice.com.
