Ida Mayfield Taplett

Ida Mayfield Taplett entered peacefully into eternal rest at West Jefferson Medical Center on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at the age of 83.  She was a native of Oakville, LA and a resident of Terrytown, LA. Devoted mother of Lawrence (Adrian) Mayfield and Kenneth Taplett.  Loving grandmother of Yolanda Massey, Tysheka Taplett Green (Therol, Jr.), and the late Shannon Mayfield.  Daughter of the late Charles, Sr. and Burtina Garrison Mayfield.  Sister of Lawrence Mayfield, Marion Black, Dora Ann Wallace, Thais and Elaine Mayfield, and the late Jeanette Williams, Adabelle, Charles, Jr., Delton, Lydia, Perry, Glenn, Paulette, and Valerie Mayfield. Ida is also survived by her devoted niece Necola Lafrance, 6 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, 1 future great great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.  Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Marrero Seventh Day Adventist Church, Westbank  United Seventh Day Adventist Church and all neighboring churches; employees of the former Metropolitan Developmental Center (State School), Padua House, Jefferson Parish Transit, Full Circle Hair Studio, Port of Orleans, Hotel Modern, Smoothie King and Bison  Material are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Westbank United Seventh Day Adventist Church, 2401 General Meyer Ave. Algiers, LA on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Derek Howell, officiating  Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the church Interment: Bayhi Cemetery-Rushville, LA  Arrangements by Davis Mortuary Service 230 Monroe St. Gretna, LA  To view and sign the guestbook, please go to www.davismortuaryservice.com
