Ida Mayfield Taplett entered peacefully into eternal rest at West Jefferson Medical Center on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at the age of 83. She was a native of Oakville, LA and a resident of Terrytown, LA. Devoted mother of Lawrence (Adrian) Mayfield and Kenneth Taplett. Loving grandmother of Yolanda Massey, Tysheka Taplett Green (Therol, Jr.), and the late Shannon Mayfield. Daughter of the late Charles, Sr. and Burtina Garrison Mayfield. Sister of Lawrence Mayfield, Marion Black, Dora Ann Wallace, Thais and Elaine Mayfield, and the late Jeanette Williams, Adabelle, Charles, Jr., Delton, Lydia, Perry, Glenn, Paulette, and Valerie Mayfield. Ida is also survived by her devoted niece Necola Lafrance, 6 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, 1 future great great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
