Alex Rodney Holmes, Sr.

Alex Rodney Holmes, Sr. entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at West Jefferson Medical Center surrounded by his loving family at the age of 67. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA.  Beloved husband of Lauree Broome Holmes.  Loving father of Alex R. Holmes, Jr. (James Keaten), Railynn A. Holmes, John Broome, Petra Broome (Rudolph), Patrice Divinity (Don), Patina Middleton (Charles), Diona Broome (Marcel), and Tiara Broome.  Son of the late Joseph “Sam” Holmes and Orlease Chopin Holmes.  Brother of the late Roland, Joseph “Jack”, and Darius Holmes, Joyce Holmes Thomas and Jereiana Holmes Relf.  Son-in-law of the late Willie T. Broome, Sr. and Valariee Williams Broome.  Brother-in-law of Charmen (Helen), Jerome, Gladys, Justina and Cassandra Broome, Joseph Relf, James Brown, and the late WillieT., Jr., Charles, Sr., Carl, Sr. ,and Johnnie Lee Broome, Lucille and Elly Brown.  Rodney, as he was affectionately known to family and friends is also survived by 8 grandsons, 8 granddaughters, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.  Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Central City Christian Fellowship Church and Rock of Ages Baptist Church, priest and parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Rock of Ages Baptist Church, 6533 Acre Rd.
