Alice Elizabeth White

Alice White, age 86, entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 11, 2018 in Moreno Valley, CA.  She was a native of Cannonsburg, MS, a former resident of New Orleans, LA and presently residing in Moreno Valley, Ca.  She was a graduate of Gilbert Academy and Dillard University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education and was a member of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc.  Alice retired from the Jefferson Parish Public School System after 30 years as an educator.  After retirement she became a teacher in the Adult Education Program of the JPPSS for 10 years.  During her career Alice impacted the live of many children and adults.  Devoted mother of Darryl (Renee) White of Moreno Valley, CA and Dwayne White of Tampa, FL.  Loving grandmother of Darryl II and George. Daughter of the late Professor Joseph D. and Vera Kaho White.  Special friend, daughter, and caregiver Pearlie Sullivan.  Devoted cousin and caregiver Elvera Williams. Former wife of the late Alfred White; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.  Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Boynton United Methodist Church and all neighboring churches; members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, National Association of University Woman, National Urban League, and Jefferson Parish Retired Teachers Association are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Boynton United Methodist Church, 515 5th Street Gretna, LA on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 11:00a.m.  Visitation will begin at 10:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.  Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, LA  Arrangements by Davis Mortuary Service 230 Monroe St. Gretna, LA  To view and sign the guestbook, please go to www.davismortuaryservice.com
