Eveling Williams Chess

Eveling Williams Chess went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her family at the age of 72. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA.

Devoted wife of Horace “Pete” Edward Chess. Beloved mother of Donna M. Chess, Diedra Chess, and Deterice (Don) Mitchell. Grandmother of Dominique and Garland Davis, Shameka (Casey) Jones, Jaron Chess, Karon Crawford, Tekia Chess, and Tekita (Jay) Johnson. Daughter of the late Joseph Williams, Sr. and Selina Smith Williams. Brother of Joseph (Miami G.) Williams, Jr., Elvera Felton, and the late Almina Williams, Matthew Williams, Madeline Clement, Dorothy Antoine, Gloria Stevenson, Daisy Powell, and Mary Miles. Sister in law of Jackie (Leroy) Landry, Esther Chess, Mary Lee Chess, Johnnie (Cynthia) Chess, and Clementina (Rodney) Williams, also survived by 15 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friend of the family also pastors, officers, and members St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; Employees of Shell Refinery of Norco, LA, Syntech Chemical of Plaquemine, LA, Total Safety Industrial of Gonzales, LA, St. Joseph Hospice, and West Jeff Cancer Center are invited of attend the funeral service at St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church 236 Robinson Ave. Marrero, LA on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 10:00a.m.

Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named church.

Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, LA.
