Joseph Parks, Sr.

Joseph Parks, Sr. entered into eternal rest at West Jefferson Medical Center on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the age of 77. He was a native of St. Joseph, LA and a resident of Gretna, LA . Joseph was Taxi Driver and CEO of Parks Transportation for 55 years. Mr. Parks was an Ambassador for the City of New Orleans and was awarded the key to the city by former Mayors Ernest and Marc Morial and Ray Nagin.

Beloved husband of Willie Mae Parks. Devoted father of Patricia Tate, Joseph Parks, Jr., Tyrone Steib , Pierre Parks, Suzanne Parks, Joey Parks, Shana Patterson, and Shane Patterson. Son of the late Jessie Sanders and Isabelle Parks. Brother of the late Dave Hartley, Henry Parks, Jerry Parks, James Lewis, Elizabeth Parks, Rosetta Lucas, Mary Parks, and Sylvia Narcisse. Great grandfather of the late Tyress Steib, also survived by 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of New Jerusalem Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 414 Westwego Ave. Bridge City, LA on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 10:00a.m.

Interment: Westlawn Cemetery-Gretna, LA.
