Leona Joann Dorsey

Leona “Joann” Dorsey entered eternal rest on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the age of 57 in her home. Mrs. Dorsey was a native of Gretna, La and resident of New Orleans, La. She was a graduate of L.B. Landry High School. Beloved wife of the late Amos L. Dorsey, Sr. Devoted mother of Davian McCullen Morrell and the late Amos L. Dorsey, Jr., and Damian Romalis Dorsey. Loving grandmother of Daviana Morrell and the late Davian Holmes.   Daughter of the late McCullen Morrell and Dorothy Mae Brooks-Morrell. Granddaughter of the late David Morrell (Evelina), and Leona Grant-Dorsey.  She is also survived by Geraldine R. Lewis (godmother/1st cousin) and a host of step brothers and sisters, brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, godson (Broc Lee), other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the celebration of life service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 230 MONROE ST. GRETNA, LA on Monday, July 23, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Reverend Aquarius D. Gilmer Officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:00 a.m. until service time at the above named parlor.
