Jerome Humphrey

Jerome Humphrey entered into eternal rest at West Jefferson Medical Center on Saturday, August 12, 2018 at the age of 60. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Jerome was educated in the Orleans Parish School System and attended Xavier University. Jerome was the owner /operator of CJ’S Lawn and Gardening Services for over 25 years. Loving husband of Patricia L. Humphrey. Father of Traniece H. (Abram) Recasner. Stepfather of Derrick and Dwayne Leggett. Grandfather of Abraya Recasner. Son of the late Joe Lee and Mildred B. Humphrey. Brother of Florence R. (Gerald) Bastian, Pamela H. (Calvin) Williams, Gizelle Humphrey, Joanna H. (Raymond) Johnson, Tyrone Wilson, Michael L., Darrell O., Therol, Timothy, Graylin and Kenneth Humphrey and the late Joseph “Lil Joe” Ferrand, Anthony Emmitt Humphrey, Gregory Humphrey, and Laura Humphrey Johnson. Nephew of Clarence Barre, Jr. Uncle of the late Harold John, Jr., Bridget and Leisha Humphrey. Son in law of Mary W. Leggett. Brother in law of Juanita Landry, Lawanda (William) Spriggins, Valerie (Vernell) Encalade, Donald (Nina) Varnado, Thomas (Joyce) Leggett, Jr. and Theodore Leggett. Godfather of Shanna Humphrey and Kameron Lewis, also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.

Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Hosanna Fellowship Church of Gretna, Greater Mt. Calvary Church, Beacon Light Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral service at Greater Mt. Calvary Church 1600 Westwood Dr. Marrero, LA. on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 11:00a.m.
