Alfred Walker, Sr.

Alfred Walker, Sr. entered peacefully into eternal rest at his residence on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at the age of 82.  He was a native and resident of Marrero, LA.  Alfred was a graduate of Lincoln High School and a retired employee of Continental Grain Elevator.  Loving husband of 54 years to Jessie Hunter Walker.  Devoted father of Fern Walker (Ryan) Goudeau, Alfred Walker, Jr., Gilfred (Chanell) Walker, and Alyssa Walker (Gregory) Brockett. Son of the late Joseph Walker, Sr. and Irene Francis Walker.  Brother of Horace (Ingrid) Walker, Mary Walker Green, and the late Rev. Joseph Walker, Jr., Warren Walker, Johnny Walker, Jack Walker, Clevon Walker, Wilbert Walker, and Dorothy Walker Johnson.  Alfred is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.  Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 1000 Walkertown Way, Marrero, LA on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Thomas J. Brown, Jr., officiating Viewing will be held from 8:00a.m.-10:00a.m. ONLY at the above named church. Interment: Christian Social Cemetery-Gretna, LA .
