Clarence Williams, age 89, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at his residence.  He was a native of Marrero, LA and a resident of Gretna, LA.  Clarence was a graduate of McDonogh 35 Senior High School Class of 1943. After graduation he served his country as a member of the United States Air Force.  He was a retired Postal Foreman and owner of Williams Income Tax Service.  Beloved husband of Betty Richards Williams.  Loving father of Welton (Arleen), Betti Jean, and Janet Williams.  Devoted grandfather of Leigh-Ann, Lesley, Jada, Spencer, and Janae Williams, Jari and Zed Smith.  Great grandfather of Jolie Williams and Natalia Ilarraza.  Son of the late Rev. Charles S. Williams, Sr. and Fannie Gaines Lewis.  Grandson of the late Griffin and Cornelius Gaines.  Brother of Frank (Mary) Williams, Inez Brent, and the late Charles and Lawrence Williams, Elizabeth Mayberry, Iola Price, Elnora Joseph, Beatrice Lovely and Mercedes Dorsey.  Brother-in-law of Richard (Tina) Hawkins, Vernita Favorite, Diana (Donald) Jones, Barbara Williams, and the late Floyd Richards, Henry Lee Hawkins, Bert Ethel Robinson and Patricia Moye’.  Father figure to Kirk (Deborah) Lovely, and Robert (Janice) Fields.  Devoted friend of Clifton (Jackie) Jones, Minister Edward (Geraldine) Sapp, Minister Willie Williams, Councilman Jerry (Vickie) Coner, John (Gladiola) White, Herman (Yvonne) Van Court, Stanley Pollock, and Mildred Clark.  Clarence is also survived by 9 godchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.  Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of New St. Joseph B.C. , Greater Morning Star B.C. (Algiers), St Paul B.C. (Gretna), Greater Providence B. C., Mt. Pilgrim B. C., Morning Star M.B. C., and all neighboring churches; employees of United States Postal Service, West Jefferson Medical Center, Ochsner Medical Center, and Passages Hospice are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Greater Morning Star Baptist Church, 1242 Vallette St., New Orleans, LA on Friday, September 21, 2018 at 10:00a.m. Pastor David L. Perry, officiating, Bishop W. L. T. Littleton, host pastor. Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
