Ellis Allen, Jr.

Ellis Allen, Jr. was welcomed into God’s loving arms on Monday, September 24, 2018 at the age of 76.  He was a native of White Castle, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA.  Bluegoose or Blue, as he was affectionately known to family and friends, was a retired employee of the Jefferson Parish Drainage Department.  He also was a gardener for many years under Mr. Joe Cain.  Beloved son of the late Ellis Allen, Sr. and Ruth B. Dabney. Grandson of the late Edward and Lily Allen, Irene and William Dabney.  Loving brother of Deacon Charles (Ursula) Allen, Lillie M. Carter, and Perry A. Black.  Uncle of Marlon (Sarah) Gauthier, Charles E. Allen II, Corey Ellis (Jonnika) Allen, Danielle (Elton) Walker, Sr., Monica (Gary ) Barnes, Gregory Black, Jr., and the late Courtni Edna Allen.  Great uncle of Gregory Black III, Jamari Black, Jourdan Dixon, Jamiya and Elton Walker, Jr., Harper Barnes, and Corey Ellis Allen, Jr.; also survived by his Plaza Drive Friends, and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.  Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Memorial Service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 6820 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY MARRERO, LA ON Friday, September 28, 2018 at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the parlor.
