Louise Morris Perkins

Louise Kay Morris Perkins, age 70, entered into eternal rest and went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 29, 2018 at her residence.  She was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Louise was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School and Delgado Community College.   She was a retired supervisor of Louisiana State University Medical Center School of Dentistry Clinical Administration Department.  Beloved wife of the late Dennis G. Perkins. Devoted mother of Shirelle Denise Perkins and Michelle Perkins Griffin. Loving grandmother of A’jah Domonique and Kennedy Nikol Perkins, Breiann Frances, Brandon Dennis, Jr., and Micah Brayden Edward Griffin. Affectionately embraced as grandmother of Honesti Amour Castro. Daughter of the late John and Elnora Morris. Sister of Madeline James. Mother-in-law of Brandon R. Griffin. Aunt of Brian and Randy (Uraina) James. Sister-in-law of Joseph, Jr. (Sheryl), David (Bridget) and Joanne Perkins, Deanna Hubbard, Donna Hudson, Joan (Frank) Knoten, Linda (Kelvin, Sr.) Wright, Sandra (Andrew, Sr.) Muller, and Karen (Freddie) Alexander. Godmother of Sharita Davis, Dr. Caressa Thornton, and the late Rodney Moss; she also affectionately embraced Godmother to Wesley Thornton and Jevon Davis. Louise also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Thompson Temple COGIC and all neighboring churches; members of the Louisiana Eastern Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction and J.A. Thompson Memorial District; Booker T. Washington High School Class of 1966; employees of Louisiana State University (LSU) Medical Center School of Dentistry, Xavier University of Louisiana, Martin Behrman School (Algiers Charter), Alice Harte and Edna Karr (Inspire Nola), Federal Reserve, and APEL, are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Thompson Temple COGIC, 1515 Whitney Avenue, Gretna, LA on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 10:00am. Pastor Keith E. Thornton, Sr., officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:00am until service time at the above named church. Interment: Westlawn Park Cemetery-Gretna, LA.
