Gregory Matron Dorsey

Gregory Matron Dorsey Departed this life at West Jefferson Medical Center on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at the age of 55. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Gregory was a graduate of West Jefferson High School and continued his studies at Nicholls State University. He was employed by Pinkerton Government Services (Avondale Shipyard) and ASI Credit Union for over 25 years.

Beloved husband of 32 years to Yvette Vancourt Dorsey. Devoted father of Brittany Alexis Dorsey and Jasmine Rene Dorsey. Son of the late Matron and Mercedes Williams Dorsey. Brother of Wardell Anthony (Veronica) Dorsey. Uncle of Veronique Dorsey. Nephew of Inez Brent, Barbara Williams, Betty Williams, Frank (Mary) Williams, Larry (Maxie)   Moore, Kevin Moore, and the late Charles, Jr., and Clarence Williams, Iola Price, Elnora Joseph, and Beatrice Lovely. Son in law of Herman and Yvonne Vancourt. Brother in law of Darien (Adriane) Vancourt, Sr. and the late Dale Vancourt, also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, Hosanna Fellowship Church, and Priest and Parishioners of All Saints Catholic Church and neighboring churches; employees of Newman Mathis and ASI Credit Union are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church 1000 Walkertown Way Marrero, LA on Friday November 16, 2018 at 10:00a.m.
