Henry “Brother” Roussell, Jr., stepped gallantly and triumphantly out of time and into the eternal heavens on Thursday, November 22, 2018, at 8:57a.m. at the age of 79. He was a native of Marrero, LA, and resident of Avondale, LA.

Loving and devoted husband of Harriet P. Gaines. Father of Henry, III (Virginia) of Orlando, FL, Roderick (Chiquita), Roxanne, and Roseanne Roussell, Deborah (Antoine) Jackson, Christine Edmond, devoted and dedicated daughters, Denise (Royal) Bellock, Contrella Norman, Sylvia Gaines, Melinda Gaines Hill, Tammy (Merwin) LeBlanc of Brooklyn, NY, and the late Tina Taylor and Phyllis Campbell. Stepfather of Rickey (Adaline) and Guy, Sr. (Marie) Patterson. Son of the late Henry Roussell, Sr., and Elnora Roussell Gaines. Brother of Richard (Shirley) and Ernest (Charlene) Roussell, Norma (Junius) Johnson, Gloria Lee Carter, and the late Harold and Clarence Roussell, Marvin Gaines, Ruby McCall, and Lorraine Cuillier. Brother-in-law of Arthur and Jerry Phillips, Joyce Roussell, Ida (Robert) Williams, and Juanita Gaines, Also survived by special and devoted neighbor, Ms. Viola Haywood, 32 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Ephesus Missionary Baptist Church, St. Mary Baptist Church, St. Paul Baptist Church, Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, Evening Star Baptist Church, Macedonia Baptist Church, St. James Major Catholic Church, Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, Brooklyn, NY, and other neighboring churches, employees of On the Go Hosiery, Dupre Logistics, Winn-Dixie, Harrah’s Hotel, Four Seasons Hotel in New York, NY, Walmart, Performance Contractors, and Office of the U.S. Trustee are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Ephesus Missionary Baptist Church, 831 Wayne Ave., Westwego, LA, on Saturday, December 1, 2018, at 10:00 a.m.,

Visitation will begin at 8:00 a.m. until service time at the above named church.

Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery-Westwego, LA.
