Charles “Chucky” Edward Broome Jr., age 54, was granted his angel wings on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 surrounded by his loving family and devoted friends. He was a native of Marrero, LA and a resident Harvey, LA. Son of the late Charles Broome, Sr. and Lillian Turner Broome Mitchell. Stepson of the late Wesley Mitchell Sr. Beloved partner, best friend, and former husband of Lisa Broome. Loving father of Lillian Broome, Charles Broome III and Shamara Chatman. Surrogate father of Monique Major, Monica Major, Gordesha Alfred, Zyrah Alfred and Daijhanee’ McGee. Stepfather of Branden Major. Brother of Terence Broome, Edward Hester (Renee), Curtis Bailey, Wesley Mitchell Jr. (Shantell), Charles Brown, IV (Lina), Anthony Campbell (Judith), Felecia Alexander, Joyce Gibson, Shameka Dixon (Montrell), Rosie Leana Turner, Joyetta Turner (David) and Domonique Mitchell. Brother-in-law of Bernadette Zeno and Ruth Love. Godbrother of Lorraine Miller (Brian), Robin Claiborne (Romaylce), Felecia Levasseur (Ulysses), and Domonique Richard. Grandfather of De’Shawna, Jamyia, Zy’Corey, Mykia, and Corde’. Surrogate grandfather of Tayke, Brandon, Camryn, Jacob, Liam Blaize and Deizel. Stepson of Gail Brown and Leddie Mitchell. Nephew of Isie Turner Jr, Laurie Holmes, Gladys Broome, Cassandra Broome, Geraldine Broome, Christina Trosclair (Chris), Charmen Broome Sr. (Helen), Jerome Broome, James Brown, Rev Matt Turner (Shannon), Izaile Turner Sr., Latrice Mitchell, Shirley Mitchell, Jacqueline Nicholas, Veronica Winzy, Marva Mitchell, Vanessa Napoleon, Stephine Mitchell, and Rev. Remus Bowman Sr., also survived a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and acquaintances to treasure his memories and legacy.

Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Greater Old Zion MBC, Greater White Oak MBC, White Chapel BC, New Shiloh MBC, Greater Impact Christian Church, and neighboring churches; employees of Westbank Cab, Jefferson Parish Sheriff Department, and Richard Waste Co. are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Greater Old Zion MBC, 655 N. Rocheblave St. New Orleans, LA on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 7:00p.m. and visitation will begin at 6:00p.m. until service time at the above named church.
