Pearl Gaines

Pearl Roussell Gaines, age 96, entered peacefully into eternal rest at Wynhoven Health Care Center on Monday, January 7, 2019. She was a native of Harvey, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA.  Beloved wife of the late Frank Gaines.  Loving mother of Janie Smith Elizabeth Wingo, Willamenia G. Gaither, Victoria G. Scott, Edith Jupiter, and Herbert Gaines.  Daughter of the late Author and Eve Royal Roussell.  Sister of the late Annie Harris, Eva Thomas, Luvenie Walker, Henry, Author, Spencer, Eugene, Thomas, Joseph, and Morris Roussell. Pearl is also survived by 30 grandchildren, 74 great grandchildren, 51 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Church of God and Prophecy, Rock of Ages Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Rock of Ages Baptist Church, 6533 Acre Rd. on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Gilbert Barnes, host pastor; Bishop James T. Whitney, officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
