Elisha “June” Smith, Jr. transitioned from this earthly plain to the heavenly realm on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at the age of 56. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Brentwood, CA. June, as he was affectionately called by family and friends was a graduate of McMain High School and attended Our Lady of Holy Cross College. He was a former accountant with Iron Mountain, and later worked in human resources at Carlton Senior Living Corporation. Beloved son of Frances Smith Henderson and the late Elisha Smith, Sr. Stepson of Charles Morgan and Leon Henderson. Grandson of the late Frank and Hazel Burrell Harris, Henry Brook, Sr., and Amanda Edwards Steptore. Devoted brother of Spencer (Joan) Smith, Kevin (Lisa) Banks, Rochelle (Rodney) Boyd, Marquelle (Joe) Brown, Nicole Brown and Danielle (Leonard) Drewry. Loving uncle of Jordan, Sydney, and Spencer Smith II (his godson). Elisha is also survived by a host of special relatives and friends, Alton (Jackie) Bates, Dr. Fredrica (Charles) Smith, Joyce Raymond and Family, Dr. Chanel (Garland) Bennett, Ruth Williams, The Taylor Family, The Haten Family, The Martin Family, The Cole Family, The Ransom Family, The Watson Family, Greg Johnson, Stanley Scorfield, and a very special friend and caregiver Maria Avila. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers and members of St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; members of McMain High School Class of 1980 are invited to attend the Funeral Service at St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church, 6223 6th Ave. Marrero, LA on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Edward Joseph III, officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
